Widespread rains in parts of Coimbatore district, including the city, today brought relief to the people from the sweltering summer heat.
However, humidity levels remained high in several areas, which did not receive any showers, official sources said.
Rains accompanied with thunder were witnessed at Ganapati and Gandhipuram in the city and Thudiyalur, Narasimhanaickenpalayam and Mettupalayam in rural limits, they added.
