The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today arrested a talathi while accepting a bribe of Rs 1,500 for providing a 7/12 land entry extract to a group of farmers.
Gajanan Sakharam Nanai, talathi of the village Saja Pimpalgaon-Lep in Yeola tehsil in the district, was arrested this morning, an ACB release here said.
The complainant had formed a group of fifty farmers from Mouje Bukate-Shivar and approached the talathi for the land document on behalf of the group. When Nanai demanded bribe, he approached the ACB which laid a trap and arrested the talathi.
