Private steel major Tata Steel bagged first prize for its commendable work in the area of environment protection, improvement and awareness.
Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board (JSPCB) gave the award to Tata Steel in the presence of Jharkhand Chief Minister, Raghubar Das at function organized to mark World Environment Day yesterday in Ranchi, a Tata Steel press release here said.
The company won the first prize in the 'Large Industry' category with respect to environment management and creating environment awareness in the society.
Besides, the company's West Bokaro colliery also won the second prize In the 'Mining' category, Tata Steel West Bokaro colliery.
