A 55-year-old private tuition teacher was found dead at his residence here this morning in North Delhi's Shastri Nagar area, police said.
The incident came to light after wife of deceased, Satish Gupta, reached home in Sarai Rohilla after celebrating Rakhi at her brother's place the day before.
"When Gupta's wife reached home she saw the gates open and house ransacked. When she went in, she found her husband lying lifeless with his hands and legs tied. A heavy bag was placed on his face," a police official said, adding the entry to the house seemed friendly.
A case of murder has been registered and investigations are on.
In another incident, a 30-year-old businessman was found dead outside his house in southeast Delhi's Dakshinpuri area.
The incident took place here this morning when the deceased's wife and kids were not at home. He was sleeping on the cot outside his residence where his body was found with his throat slit, police said.
