Teenage boy drowns in ditch

A 14-year-old student drowned on Saturday in a roadside ditch in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra, police said.

The incident occurred near Mudana village after Laxman Shinde entered the ditch for a swim, they said.

He was a student of class 9.

Shinde's body has been fished out, a police officer said, adding that a case of accidental death has been registered.
