Teenage girl commits suicide, states harassment by teachers

A 17-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by setting herself abaze in Banswara district of Rajasthan, police said today.

Diya, a class 12th student of a private school in Sikar, alleged in her suicide note that she was being tortured by her school teachers - Ramakant and Piyush, police said.

"She was at her home in Banswara during Diwali vacations. She poured kerosene and set herself on fire yesterday," the police said.

A case has been registered against both the teachers for abetment of suicide, police said.
