Maximum temperatures in Punjab and Haryana today stayed below normal as the MeT Department predicted rainfall at isolated places of the two states.
Chandigarh registered its maximum at 36.6 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal, the weatherman said.
Ambala's maximum settled at 39 degrees Celsius, while Hisar recorded a high of 41.6 degrees Celsius, it said.
Karnal and Narnaul registered their maximum temperatures at 39 degrees Celsius each, the MeT said.
Amritsar's registered a high of 38.3 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal. Mercury in Ludhiana and Patiala settled at 38.1 and 39.6 degrees Celsius, it said.
The Department has predicted rains or thunder showers at isolated places in the two states over the next 24 hours.
