Thai AirAsia will start daily direct flights from the Southern city of Kochi to Bangkok from May 17.
The airline would also provide promotional fares to Bangkok starting from Rs 2,999 and the offer can be availed till March 27 for travel between May 17 to 22.
"The first ever direct flight from Kochi to Bangkok will operate daily starting from May 17, 2016," the carrier said in a release today.

"As the first airline to launch a direct flight between Kochi and Bangkok, we are pleased to offer more convenience with a short four-hour flight so travellers can have more time to enjoy our wonderful country," he added.
From Bangkok, AirAsia passengers can connect to Phuket, Krabi, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai via Bangkok Don Mueang Airport with the airline's Fly-Thru service -- that would allow travellers to check-through their bags to their final destination.
This service would be available from Kochi in the near future and is targeted to be available for booking starting from mid-April 2016 onwards.
Thai AirAsia -- part of AirAsia group that operates no-frills airlines -- has direct flights to Bangkok from Chennai and Bengaluru.
