Three candidates, including JMM

president Shibu Soren, are in the fray for the two Rajya Sabha seats, elections for which are scheduled on March 26.

BJPs Jharkhand unit president Deepak Prakash and Congresss Shahzada Anwar are the other two nominees in the field after the deadline for withdrawal ended at 3 pm, officials at the Jharkhand Assembly secretariat said here on Wednesday.

The term of Independent member Parimal Nathwani and RJDs Prem Chand Gupta ends in April.

Shibu Soren, father of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, looks a sure shot winner as his JMM and other ruling coalition partners have a strength of 46 in the 81-member house.

BJP's nominee enjoys support of 29 legislators, 26 of his own party, including Babulal Marandi, two of AJSU and one Independent, sources in the saffron party said.

The chance of the Congress contestant appears dim.
