Three dead, 10 injured in road accident in Shimla

At least three persons, including the brother of a minister, were killed and 10 others injured in a road accident in district Wednesday, police said.

The accident took place in the evening near Chhaila Bazar when a Tempo Traveller, with 13 passengers who were to attend a marriage, was headed towards Rohru.

The reason behind the mishap was not immediately clear.

The deceased have been identified as Nitya Nand Bhardwaj -- the younger brother of Suresh Bhardwaj, Anil, and Kewal, Superintendent of Police Omapati Jamwal said, adding that all were residents of Kasumpti.

The vehicle (bearing registration number 01 A 5099) was on its way to Rohru from Kasumpti in when it met with the accident on a bridge near Chhaila Bazar at around 7.30 pm, police said.

The injured have been shifted to Theog Hospital, they said.
