The district court here today sentenced three criminals to six years' imprisonment underthe Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986, officials said.
Naseer, alias Zakir, Israeel, alias Ajay Bidhudi, and Kalu, alias Om Shiv, each were awarded six years' rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 6000 by Special Judge RC Yadav," Senior Prosecution Officer Lalit Mudgal said here.
The prosecution had alleged that the accused had created such an atmosphere of terror that people were afraid to record statements against them.

"They were wanted in robbery, attempt to murder and murder cases," Mudgal said.
On December 5, the court had awarded rigorous imprisonment of two years and fine of Rs 5000 to two other criminals, Sanjay and Bittu, under the gangster act, Mudgal said.
