Three held for selling bogus seeds

Three persons were arrested for allegedly selling bogus seeds worth Rs 4.62 lakh in the district, police said today.

The accused, identified as Madhukar Bugle, 30, Janardan Chaudhari, 31, and Vijay Rambhau Goud (33) were apprehended last evening while they were selling bogus cotton seeds at Bhusawal on Khadka road, district agriculture development officer Madhukar Chaudhari said.

On a tip off, a team of Bhusawal police and agriculture officer reached the spot and nabbed the trio selling the seeds stock from their four-wheeler.

The officer said the accused revealed that they also sold such seeds at Chalisgaon in the district recently.
