Three including IT deputy dir arrested for taking bribe in Raj

A deputy director of the IT department in Ajmer and his accountant were today arrested for allegedly accepting bribe, state ACB officials said.

IT Department Deputy Director Ashutosh Gautam and his accountant Nagarmal Sharma were arrested for taking bribe of Rs 10,000 to clear a bill of a computer firm, IG (Anti- Corruption Bureau) Vijay Kumar Singh said.

In a separate incident in Rajsamand district, family member of a sarpanch in a village in the state was also arrested for allegedly accepting bribe, the ACB official said.

Dungar Singh, the father-in-law of Sangawas village sarpanch Vimla Devi was arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh for the renewal of contract from a fisheries contractor, the state ACB official said.
 

He had demanded Rs one-and-a-half lakh but the matter was settled for Rs one lakh and he was arrested from the mela ground, the official said.

All three have been arrested under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
