Three persons were killed and five others injured in an accident near Asuragarh village under Kanki police station in Bihar's Kishanganj district today, the police said.
The incident occurred when a speeding truck lost control and collided head-on with a jeep carrying a marriage party on National Highway-31. The jeep was on its way to Purnia from Panji Para in West Bengal, officer in-charge of Kishanganj sadar police station, Aftab Ahmed said.
He said the deceased were identified as Shabnam (12), Rukshana (16) and driver Mohammad Ali (25).
The bodies have been sent to the sadar hospital for postmortem and the injured were admitted to a local health centre for treatment.
