Three Maharashtra girls enter main draw

Maharashtra girls Aastha Dargude, Tejasvi Kate, Swara Kulkarni made to the main draw as qualifiers at the USD 15,000 Endurance Aurangabad Open Women's ITF Tennis Championships today.

In the final round qualifiers played here, Aastha Dargude got past Kaaviya Balasubramanian 7-5 6-4 while 17- year-old left-handed Tejasvi Kate ousted Dakshata Patel 6-3 6-3 and Swara Kulkarni outplayed Pragati Solankar in straight sets.

Taipei's Hsin -Yuan Shih, the lone foreign entrant in the qualifier, rallied past Shrishti Dass 6-2 6-4 to make the main draw.

Sheetal Shetty, Advaita Saravanan, Saumya Vig and Shivani Manjanna were the other qualifiers for the main draw which is set to commence tomorrow.

Singles: 1. Snehadevi Reddy, 2. Xiaoxi Zhao (Chn), 3. Soujaynya Bavisetti, 4. Fiona Codino (Fra), 5. Nidhi Chilumula, 6. Sai Samhita Chamarthi, 7. Pranjala Yadlapalli, 8. Alexandra Walters (Aus).
