Three suspected members of Ejaz Lakdawala gang were arrested from western suburbs for allegedly plotting to kill a local businessman after he refused to pay Rs 2 crore in extortion, police said today.
Sleuths of Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC) apprehended Sagar Indulkar (25) and Ankush Tayade (21) from S.V.Raod in Jogeshwari (west), and Sagar Chavan (24) from Mira Road last night.
Police recovered a pistol, five bullets, a knife, a motorcycle and mobile phones from Indulkar and Tayade.

According to an AEC official, the trio had allegedly hatched a plan to bump off the businessman on the instructions of a gangster, also belonging to Lakdawala gang, who is currently lodged in Arthur Road prison here.
Police will question the gangster in the prison in connection with the plot.
Lakdawala is one of the most wanted gangsters from Mumbai.
