Senior-most judge of Orissa High Court Justice Pradeep K Mohanty administered the oath of office to three new judges of the high court here today.

Justice Mohanty administered the affirmation of office to the new judges as the Chief Justice of the High Court Justice A K Goel left for Delhi upon his elevation to the bench of the Supreme Court.

Sources here said that Justice Goel is likely to be sworn in as the apex court judge on Monday.

While Justice Vinod Prasad, who was transferred here from Allahabad High Court, was sworn in as permanent judge, justices Biswanath Rath and Sangam Kumar Sahoo were sworn in as additional judges of the High Court. Justices Rath and Sahoo were elevated to the bench of the High Court from the bar here.

With the appointment of the three new judges, the strength of the High Court bench here has gone up to 19 against a sanctioned strength of 22.
