At least three persons were killed in an explosion at the explosive godown of a quarry at Alakdeshi village in Giridih district today, police said.
At least three persons were killed in the incident, said the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Rajdhanwar) Prabhat Ranjan.
The bodies were blown to pieces under the impact of the explosion this evening, he said.
Exact number of death caused in the explosion would be known only after investigation, he said.
The incident occurred on the bordering area of Giridih-Koderma districts.
Ranjan admitted that rescue personnel were facing difficulty to carry out operation due to darkness.
The quarry owner, who lives in Koderma, has been summoned, the SDPO added.
