Three persons rob taxi in Phagwara

Three unidentified persons, including a woman, allegedly robbed a taxi after beating its driver on Phagwara-Palahi road here, police said today.

The persons had yesterday hired the taxi from a stand in Amritsar, saying that they had to go near Phagwara for a marriage.

But when the taxi reached Phagwara-Palahi road here, the trio allegedly thrashed its driver Gurcharan Singh and sped away with the vehicle, they said.

Owner of the taxi Ashwani Kumar has lodged a complaint here in this regard.
