Three rail coaches gutted in fire

Three rail coaches, including two air-conditioned, stationed in a shed near Basin Bridge junction near here were damaged following a fire early today, fire sources said.

The coaches were gutted and it took about 90 minutes for the fire personnel to douse the blaze, Assistant Divisional Fire Officer Devendran told reporters.

The cause of the fire, that was reported at 8.50 AM, is being investigated, he said.
