The Madras High Court today summoned Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer Sandeep Saxena to appear before it on June 19 in connection with an election petition challenging DMK leader M K Stalin's election from Kolattur constituency in 2011 assembly polls.
The order was issued by Justice M Venugopal on the petition by Stalin's nearest AIADMK rival candidate Saidai Duraisamy who lost to the DMK leader by 2,600 votes.
Saxena has been summoned for the purpose of giving evidence.

Duraisamy submitted that Stalin had indulged in "corrupt" practises during the election.
There were also various irregularities during the counting of votes, Duraisamy contended and sought to declare the election of Stalin as null and void and instead declare him as elected.
