: Parts of Tamil Nadu have been experiencig heavy rains under the impact of the North East Monsoon, which has set in at least two days in advance.
The Meterological department said many places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry would experience rain in the next 24 hours.
The North east monsoon has commenced over Tamil Nadu, Kerala and adjoining areas of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, S R Ramanan, Director, RMC, Chennai, told PTI.

Tamil Nadu receives about 48 per cent of its annual rainfall this season.
The Met Department predicted that the North East monsoon for the South Peninusula would most likely be normal and Tamil Nadu will most likely witness an above normal rainfall.
