TN Guv, CM extend Christmas Greetings

: Tamil Nadu Governor CH. Vidyasagar Rao, Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and DMK Leader M Karunanidhi today extended their greetings to the people on the eve of Christmas.

"The birth of Lord Jesus Christ signifies removal of evil, reminds us of our duty to help those in distress and share the sufferings of our brethren. Let us resolve to promote love, compassion and peace to build a harmonious world", Rao said in a Raj Bhavan release.

"I wish all my Christian brethren a happy and merry Christmas", he said.

The Chief Minister listed out efforts taken by the late AIADMK Supremo and former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and highlighted the scheme introduced for the benefit of Christians to take up pilgrimage to Jerusalem.
 

"The scheme introduced in 2011 was well received by the Christian community and so far 2,340 people have taken up pilgrimage to Jerusalem from Tamil Nadu", he said.

On the occasion of Christmas, let love and peace prevail and health and wellness prosper world over, he said.

DMK President M Karunanidhi recalled the measures taken for the welfare of the christian community by DMK when his party was in power.

MDMK Chief Vaiko and PMK Leader Anbumani Ramadoss also extended their greetings to the people on the occasion.
