Toll booth violence: Property of absconding to be attached

Police have initiated steps to attach properties of those absconding after being accused in the recent violence at a toll plaza nearby Brahmarakootlu.

The incident occurred on April 26 after miscreants vandalised the booth when various organisations were staging a protest, demanding it be shifted from its present location.

Superintendent of Police, S D Sharanappa said here that police would take legal recourse to attach the property of the absconding persons after obtaining court permission.

Three people have so far been arrested in connection with this case.

The toll booth has been in controversy since its inception with various organisations staging protests to shift it.
 

On April 29, two policemen were suspended for dereliction of duty after an accused escaped from a private hospital here where he was being treated for injuries sustained during the incident related to vandalising of the toll gate.
