Top Asian leaders dealing with disaster risk reduction will meet here for three days beginning Tuesday to chalk out strategy on how to cope with natural calamity and reduce people's suffering.
The Asia Leaders' Meeting towards Implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction in Asia and the 2nd ISDR Asia Partnership (IAP) meeting of 2015 will be inaugurated by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
The international meeting is being organised by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Key dignitaries and senior ministers from eight countries -- China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mongolia, South Korea, and Thailand -- will attend the meeting.
Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju, and Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General for Disaster Risk Reduction Margareta Wahlstrom, will also be part of the three-day high-level consultations focusing on effective implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 in the Asia region.
The IAP consultations, which will conclude on November 19, will focus on substantive preparations for the First Asian Ministerial Conference for Disaster Risk Reduction after the Sendai meeting, scheduled to be hosted by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India in New Delhi in November next year.
During the meeting, Rijiju will be conferred with the award of Global Champion for disaster management.
