Shares of Torrent Power surged nearly 7 per cent today after the company's board declared interim dividend.
The stock jumped 5.62 per cent to settle at Rs 241.65 on BSE. During the day, it surged 6.55 per cent to Rs 243.80.
At NSE, shares of the company climbed 6.83 per cent to close at Rs 242.20.
The company added Rs 805.1 crore to Rs 11,614.10 crore in market valuation.
In terms of volume, 6.14 lakh shares of the company changed hands at BSE and over 28 lakh shares were traded at NSE during the day.
Torrent Power today informed BSE that the board of directors of the company at its meeting held today have declared interim dividend of Rs 4.50 per equity share on 48,06,16,784 equity shares for FY 2015-16.
The interim dividend will be paid or dispatched from March 23, 2016, it said.
