Tourist season of the world-famous Dudhwa National Park ended today with "encouraging" growth in the number of visitors this year, an official said.

This year, an encouraging growth was registered in the number of tourists which resulted in 12 per cent increase in park's income from tourists, deputy director of the park Vinod Krishna Singh said.

Innovative efforts like setting up of Nature Shop, tribal handicraft stalls and better habitat management attracted more tourists within the country and from abroad, he said adding ID based monitoring of rhinos was started in Dudhwa this year.

Over three dozen tourists enjoyed the beauty of wild life on the last day of tourist season in the park which runs between November 15 and June 15 every year.

In the evening, park Director Sanjay Singh and Deputy Director Vinod Krishna greeted the last visitors of the park and thanked them for their visit.

The park would now reopen on November 15 after the rainy season was over, the Deputy Director said.
