Scores of traders today staged a demonstration at district headquarters here against two Ghaziabad-based trade tax officials for allegedly harassing traders and adopting corrupt practices.
Mahanagar Udyog Vyapar Mandal (MUVM) General Secretary Ashok Chawla said that a memorandum addressed to the UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was handed over to the District Magistrate alleging corrupt practices adopted by Joint Commissioner Pankaj Gandhi posted at Special Investigation Branch (SIB) and Deputy Commissioner Prem Chandra Dubey.
The traders have demanded transfer of both corrupt officials and initiation of a probe against the two errant officials for amassing assets disproportionate to their incomes, he said.
