Traffic constable assaulted by rouge bikers, two nabbed

In another incident of police assault in the city, a traffic constable was assaulted by three bike-riders, who were later arrested in Salt Lake area today, the police said.

The incident happened at around noon today on Ultadanga Main Road when constable Sheikh Salim Sarkar was assaulted by three persons riding a bike without wearing helmets, they said.

The Police have nabbed Nimai Debnath, a Duttapukur resident, and Sujit Garai of Bortala for allegedly assaulting the constable and have launched a search for the third rider who was absconding, they said.
