As the demand for transfer of the prime mill land in central Mumbai for the memorial grew shriller, a delegation of MPs from the state, led by Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to press for transfer of Indu Mill land to the state government to build an Ambedkar memorial.

"An announcement in this regard is expected to be made in Parliament tomorrow, you will have to wait till that happens," Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajeev Shukla told reporters here.

Chavan said that all issues related to departments of environment, finance, and textiles have been settled.

He said last December, the Prime Minister had directed officials at the Centre and the state to resolve all issues related to transfer of land for the Ambedkar memorial.

Maharashtra government has proposed a grand memorial near Chaityabhoomi, Babasaheb Ambedkar's final resting place in Dadar in Central Mumbai a few years ago.

India United Mill, popularly known as Indu Mill, is a National Textile Corporation unit built on 12.5 acres land in Prabhadevi, a prime real estate locality.
