Trent Q1 net profit jumps over 60% to Rs 23 cr

Tata Group retail firm Trent Ltd today reported a 60.62 per cent jump in standalone net profit to Rs 23.29 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2016.

The company's net profit in the year-ago period stood at Rs 14.50 crore, Trent Ltd said in a BSE filing.

Its net sales on standalone basis was up 14.73 per cent to Rs 391.47 crore during the quarter under review as against Rs 341.20 crore during the corresponding period last fiscal.

Meanwhile, in a separate filing, Trent has informed BSE that its board in a meeting held today has passed an "enabling resolution for raising of funds through issue of Commercial Paper up to an amount not exceeding Rs 150 crore."
 

Shares of the company today closed 1.56 per cent up at Rs 1,876.75 on BSE.
