Tripura Governor Dr D Y Patil today left for Patna, who is set to takeover as the Governor of Bihar on March 22.
Before leaving Raj Bhavan here, he was given guard of honour by the state police and CRPF.
Many ministers, including Parliamentary Affairs Minister Tapan Chakraborty, Minority affairs minister Shahid Chowdhury and opposition MLAs like Sudip Roy Burman, also President of Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee and Asish Saha were present at Raj Bhavan to see him off.
Chief Minister Manik Sarkar who was not in the capital, could not join the farewell.
Dr Patil would take oath as Governor of Bihar on March 22.
Bihar Governor, Debanand Konwar would arrive here on March 25 and take over as the Governor of Tripura, official sources said.
