Former MP and TRS leader Gutha Sukhender Reddy on Wednesday filedhis nomination for the August 26 bye-election to fill a vacancy in the Telangana Legislative Council, party sources said.
The vacancy (to be elected by MLAs) arose following the disqualification of K Yadava Reddy on charges of switching over to Congress.
The victory of Sukhender Reddy is a foregone conclusion as the strength of TRS in the 119-member assembly is 100.
The Election Commission has recently announced the schedule for the council bypoll.
