Tusker kills two men in Purulia district

Two persons were today killed by a tusker when it strayed into Jhalda bordering Jharkhand, 65 km from here.

DFO, Jhalda Range, Animesh Mahato said the tusker separated from a herd of elephants who had come down from the Dalma hills in Jharkhand and flung two men early morning killing them instantly.

The tusker was then pushed back to Dalma hills, he said.
