TVS Motor Co launches BS-VI compliant scooter Jupiter

Chennai-based TVS Motor Company on Wednesday launched BS-VI emission norm-compliant version of its popular scooter Jupiter Classic priced at Rs 67,911 (ex-showroom Delhi).

The BS-VI Jupiter Classic is equipped with ET-Fi (Ecothrust Fuel Injection) technology, one of the two technologies that the company has developed to meet BS-VI emission norms which will be implemented from April 1, 2020.

The scooter now delivers 15 per cent better mileage, the company said in a regulatory filing.

TVS Motor has developed two versions of BS-VI Fi platforms -- RT-Fi (Race Tuned Fuel Injection) and ET-Fi (Ecothrust Fuel Injection).

While the ET-Fi technology provides enhanced overall performance across driveability, smoothness, and fuel economy, the RT-Fi technology is especially designed to ensure enjoyable racing experience in all driving conditions, the company added.

TVS Jupiter Classic ET-Fi comes with a convenient front mobile phone cubby, USB charger and a new tinted visor, he added.

Launched in 2013, TVS Jupiter has crossed 3 million sales milestone.
