Two armymen win gold in Senior National Archery C'ship

Two archers of the Army won gold medals in the Indian Round of the 22nd Senior National Archery Championship held in Delhi and qualified for the February 2015 National Games in Kerala, an official said here today.

Rifleman Santosh Thapa won gold in the 50 metre category while Havildar Captain Singh won gold in 30 metre category of the Men's events, Defense PRO Group Capt Amit Mahajan said in a statement here.

Both the armymen, who were members of the Services Archery team, were trained and fielded by the 58 Gorkha Training Centre here, he said.

A total of 48 teams and 153 archers from various states and associations competed in the championship of the Indian Round Archery.
