A special CBI court here today awarded three years of rigorous imprisonment to a Central Public Works Department (CPWD) junior engineer and a contractor for accepting Rs 10,000 bribe.
The complainant, Sunil Sharma, who is also a contractor, had lodged a complaint with the CBI that the CPWD junior engineer Amit Kumar Gupta had sought Rs 10,000 bribe from him for preparing bills for a work executed by him in 2008, a CBI release said.
The bills were pending for over a year as Gupta was not measuring the constructed work executed by Sharma.
