Two brick kiln workers held for colleague's murder

Two brick kiln workers were arrested today for allegedly murdering their 52-year-old colleague over a petty issue at Chimbipada in Bhiwandi town, police said.

The incident occurred on the intervening night of July 2 and 3 when the accused duo Vishwas Thackeray (25) and Ranju Umbarsada (30) picked up a fight with the victim, identified as Mahadu Jadhav, and latter's wife over switching on light in their hut.

The duo allegedly started abusing Chavan and also assaulted the couple.

They then tied Jadhav's hands and thrashed him with a log of wood, killing him on the spot.

The duo were booked under various sections of IPC.
