Two government officials working with Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) at Serilingampalli in neighbouring Ranga Reddy district were today arrested for allegedly accepting Rs 2 lakh bribe.
"Assistant city planner and section officer employed at GHMC's West Zone office were caught red handed by the Anti- Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials when they demanded and accepted Rs 2 lakh from a complainant for doing official favour for "sanction of building permission" of his (complainant's) cousin", an ACB release said here.
Both the accused persons were arrested after the bribe amount was recovered from them and they will be produced before an ACB court here, it said.
The names of the accused were not disclosed by the ACB.
