Two feared drowned in Yamuna

Two persons were feared drowned on Thursday, when a boat on which they were crossing the Yamuna river capsized in Hamirpur district here, police said.

The incident took place at Surauli Buzurg village in Sumeepur area of Hamirpur district, when eight persons were crossing the river in the boat, they said.

While six swam to safety, Nisha (31) and Jagannath (54) are feared drowned.

A search operation was on to trace them, police added.
