Two garrison engineers held for taking Rs 10,000 bribe

Two engineers of the Garrison Engineer (Air Force) office here have been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau of CBI for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a complainant for clearing his bills.

Probir Kumar Sardar and Parvati Yadav, working as junior engineers in the office of Garrison Engineer (Air Force) at Nagpur, demanded Rs 10,000 from civil contractor Rushikesh Sopan Moon for clearing his pending bill of Rs 4.5 lakh, the CBI said in a release here.

Acting on a complaint filed by the contractor, the ACB arrested the duo yesterday.

Searches are being conducted at the office and residential premises of both the accused, the release added.
