Two get capital punishment in kidnap-cum-murder case

A fast track court heretoday sentenced two persons to death for abducting and killing a trader's son six years ago in the district.

Terming it as 'the rarest of the rare' case, the judge Rajesh Bhardwaj pronounced thejudgement and ordered that the accused Monu alias Chander Prakash and Nitube hanged till death.

The sentencing would be subject to the confirmation by the Allahabad High Court.

According to government lawyer Sitaram Arya, 17-year-old Rashid, son of scrap trader Arshad, was kidnapped for ransom of Rs 18,00,000 from Mansurpur village in the district in October 2010.

Later, police found his body with bullet injuries and also recovered arms used in the crime from the accused, he said.
