Two persons were arrested and country-made arms and ammunition seized from their possession at Esplanade area in the heart of the city, police said Monday.
The police recovered a pistol fitted with a magazine with three cartridges, besides a single shot firearm with three cartridges.
The two, who are residents of Kasba area of the city, had brought the arms and ammunition for selling them to some anti-social elements who managed to flee, police said.
They were arrested late on Saturday night.
