Two held with 5 kg marijuana

Two persons have been arrested on charges of drug peddling near the Nandgram tri-section here and 5 kg of marijuana has been seized from them, the police said today.

A team from the Sihani Gate Police Station nabbed the accused and seized a huge cache of marijuana from them last night after a tip-off, they said.

"The police intercepted their car at the tri-section. They found 5 kg of marijuana in six bags kept in the vehicle. The persons have confessed to their crime," Superintendent of Police (SP)-City Akash Tomar said.

The accused said that they used to sell the drug in the national capital region, the officer claimed.
 

A case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and they have been sent to jail, the SP said.
