Two IAS officers booked by Vigilance Organisation

The vigilance organisation Jammu (VOJ) has booked two serving Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers besides several other senior officials for allegedly promoting undeserving teachers during their tenure as the Director of School education here.

"Two FIRs have been registered by Vigilance Organisation Jammu on the basis of verifications conducted into the allegations that State School Education Department promoted Teachers as Masters on B.Ed degrees obtained by the beneficiaries teachers from unrecognized Universities during the year 2013 and 2014 respectively," a VOJ spokesman said.

The first FIR has been lodged against P K Pole (IAS), the Director School education, Jammu in 2013 who was Chairman Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) and other members including Rashid Azam Inqalabi, the then additional secretary to Government School Education, he said.
 

Narupa Rai, Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS), the then Personnel officer to Director School Education, S K Gandotra, the then joint Director School Education have also been named in the FIR.

Another FIR has been lodged against Tushar Kanti (IAS) who was the Director School Education Jammu in 2014, Chairman Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) and several others namely Rashid Azam Inqalabi, the then Additional Secretary to Government School Education, Susheel Kumar, KAS, the then Personnel officer to Director School Education, Saif Ali, the then joint Director School Education, he said.

All of them have been booked on charges of criminal conspiracy hatched with concerned Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) and Chief Education Officers (CEOs) for illegally promoting undeserving teachers as Masters on the basis of invalid degrees in utter violation of government orders, the spokesman added.
