Authorities have recovered two mobile phones from a barrack in Ambala central jail during special search operation, police said today.

The mobile phones were recovered from barrack No 6 last night and did not have any SIM cards inside, they said.

A case was registered in this regard at the Baldevnagar police station today on the complaint of jail Deputy SP Rajinder Singh.

Police are trying to locate the owner of the mobile phones through its IMEI number.

Sources said that it could not be established how mobiles reached inside the jail.

It is, however, not the first time mobile phones have been recovered from jail barracks. There have been a number of such incidents of late.
