A woman and her nephew were killed and four others of a family suffered injuries when their car rammed into a tree near Bhulpur village of here.
The six occupants of the car -- Rajinder Singh, his wife Rupinder Kaur, father Balbir, brother Bhupinder, niece Manpreet Kaur and nephew Abhijeet (4) -- were injured after their car met with accident last evening.
They were rushed to civil hospital in Tanda, where Rupinder and Abhijeet died during the treatment, police said.
Meanwhile, a couple from Hoshiarpur died after they jumped off a moving train following a tiff near Dhilwan village in Jalandhar district last evening.
The deceased were identified as Amrish (26) and Khajuria (24), police said, adding they had a three-year-old daughter.
According to police, while returning from Jalandhar, Amrish slapped his wife following a tiff.
Apparently angry, Khajuria jumped off the moving train. Amrish in a bid to save his wife, also jumped out of the train.
Both of them died on the spot, police said.
