Two officers suspended in Udhampur for unauthorised absence

Two officers, one each from Education and Revenue Departments in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir have been suspended today with immediate effect for their alleged unauthorised absence from duty.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Angrez Singh Rana paid a surprise visit to Panchari tehsil today to inspect the punctuality and functioning of government offices, an official spokesperson said.

During inspection, one Naib Tehsildar and a Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) was found absent without sanctioned leave or permission to leave station, he said.

Both the officers were placed under suspension with immediate effect and attached with their respective departments pending enquiry, the spokesperson said.
 

The Sub Divisional Magistrate of Chenani has been asked to conduct the enquiry and furnish a detailed report in this regard, he said.

The Principal of Government Higher Secondary School, Panchari and Naib Tehsildar of Lander shall look after the functioning of the ZEO office and Naibat Office respectively till further orders, the spokesperson said.

During inspection, Rana directed the officials to remain regular and punctual in the offices and maintain all records regarding tours, departure report, movement register etc. He also instructed them to work with dedication and sincerity and redress the grievances of public on priority basis, he said.
