Two persons drown in Uttarakhand

Two persons drowned while taking a bath in Alaknanda river in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district.

Azharuddin (20) and Saddam Hussain (25) who hailed from Rasulpur village of Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur district were swept away by the swirling water currents while taking a bath in the river yesterday, State Emergency Operation Centre here said.

The incident occurred at around 11 AM near Koteshwar Mahadev temple, it said.

The bodies of the two have not yet been recovered.
