Two pilgrims killed, 20 injured in road accident

Two pilgrims were killed and 20 others injured when a mini-truck they were travelling in was hit by another truck on Narwana-Patiala road near Balarkha village here today, police said.

The accident occurred when the victims were returning from Mata Vaishno Devi shrine and were on way to Jaipur, police said.

Fourteen injured persons have been admitted to the General Hospital at Narwana while six seriously injured were referred to PGI at Rohtak for treatment, police said.

The deceased have been identified as Phool Chand of Jaipur and Kuldip, a resident of Jammu, police said.

Police have registered a case against the truck driver who is absconding.
